How to Get Enchanted Essence in Steal an Egg
Complete the Wisp quest, catch and trade butterflies, then craft Enchanted Essence at the Enchanted Altar for a guaranteed Enchanted x2.85 mutation.
To get Enchanted Essence, complete the Wisp's four quests, enter the unlocked Enchanted Tree, catch butterflies during Butterfly Bloom, trade common butterflies into rarer types, and craft the Essence at the Enchanted Altar. Enchanted Essence applies the Enchanted Mutation with a 100% success chance and gives a x2.85 income multiplier.
You need 50B Speed to see the Wisp and begin the quest route. If you are not at that threshold, train first with the Steal An Egg Speed guide or estimate the remaining time using the Speed Calculator.
Enchanted Essence Crafting Materials
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Emerald Butterfly | 240 |
| Sapphire Butterfly | 115 |
| Amethyst Butterfly | 40 |
| Radiant Butterfly | 1 |
| Result | 1 Enchanted Essence |
Step 1: Complete the Wisp Quest
Finish all four Wisp quest stages and grow your Wisp. This unlocks the Enchanted Tree, which is required for the Butterfly Net and the crafting route.

For the Wisp location, the 50B Speed requirement, and the quest objectives, use the Wisp in Steal an Egg guide.
Step 2: Enter the Enchanted Tree
After returning the fully grown Wisp, go to the Enchanted Forest and enter the unlocked tree.

Step 3: Claim the Butterfly Net
Inside the tree, claim the Butterfly Net. You need it to catch butterflies for the Enchanted Essence crafting materials.

Step 4: Catch Butterflies During Butterfly Bloom
Use the net during Butterfly Bloom to collect butterflies. The event starts every 30 minutes, beginning 15 minutes after Dr. Scramble spawns, according to the event guide image. Watch the in-game event timing in case the schedule changes.

Step 5: Trade Common Butterflies Up
At the Butterfly Trade Up menu, convert lower-tier butterflies into rarer ones. The displayed exchange chain begins with 10 common butterflies for 1 rare butterfly, then uses a 50:1 trade for the next shown rarity. Keep trading until you have the materials listed for the Enchanted Altar.

Step 6: Craft at the Enchanted Altar
Open the Enchanted Altar and submit 240 Emerald, 115 Sapphire, 40 Amethyst, and 1 Radiant Butterfly. Crafting these materials gives you one Enchanted Essence.

Step 7: Use Enchanted Essence on Your Pet
Use the Enchanted Essence on the pet you want to improve. Unlike chance-based mutation consumables, this item guarantees a successful mutation. The result is the Enchanted Mutation, which provides a x2.85 multiplier.
Choose the target carefully: the materials take time to collect, especially the Radiant Butterfly. For the complete multiplier list and mutation-stacking formula, see the Mutation Multiplier guide.
