How to Find the Mushroom Secret Cave in Steal an Egg

Find the Mushroom Secret Cave behind the Enchanted Forest boss, solve its personal mushroom sequence, meet the bugs, and claim the Banjo Bat and exclusive Egg.

Last updated: 4 min read

The Mushroom Secret Cave is a hidden area in the Enchanted Forest. It is reached through the cave behind the boss area, then through a water entrance and a mushroom-sequence minigame. Completing the sequence opens a final room where you can meet the bugs, receive a new Banjo Bat, and claim an exclusive Egg.

Important: The mushroom-minigame pattern can be different for every player. Do not copy another player's sequence; watch the order shown in your own cave.

Before You Start

The entrance is unavailable while the tree is sealed: “Help your Wisp grow to open it!” Complete all four Wisp quest stages and return the fully grown Wisp to open the tree / cave route behind the boss. See the Wisp quest guide for the growth steps.

Step 1: Enter the Cave Behind the Boss

Go to the last biome, Enchanted Forest, and find the cave behind the boss area. Enter this cave to start the route to the Mushroom Secret Cave.

Step 2: Take the Right-Side Staircase

After entering the secret cave, head toward the staircase on the right side.

Step 3: Find the Staircase Below the Rightmost Stairs

Run up the rightmost staircase. At the secret turn, look for another staircase directly below you. Jump toward that lower path.

Step 4: Jump Into the Water Entrance

When you reach the bottom-most staircase, jump off the edge into the water. Immediately enter the opening there to reach the hidden Mushroom Secret Cave.

Step 5: Solve the Mushroom Minigame

Equip your bat and hit the first mushroom. A different mushroom will then glow. Hit that one next. Every correct hit adds another mushroom to the sequence, so remember the complete order as it grows.

Keep repeating the pattern in the correct order until every required mushroom is activated. Once the full sequence is completed, the cave door opens.

Because the pattern is personal, take your time and restart from the sequence shown in your own room if you make a mistake. The goal is not to memorize a universal order; it is to follow the glowing mushrooms for your current run.

Step 6: Meet the Bugs and Claim the Rewards

Enter the newly opened room. You will find a group of bugs inside. Walk close to them until the interaction prompt appears, then interact to receive the Banjo Bat and an exclusive Egg.

The Banjo Bat also unlocks the bridge sequence in the Secret Fusion Cave, which leads to the new Fusion Area.
