How to Mount Pets in Steal an Egg
Find the Star Handler, get a Mount Star through the shop or Star Event, apply it permanently to a pet, then Ride or Dismount your new mount.
To mount pets in Steal an Egg, get a Mount Star, apply it to a pet, confirm the irreversible conversion, then select that pet and use Ride. The pet becomes mountable while remaining eligible to stay equipped in your Pen.
Mount Stars are limited items, so the key decision is which pet you want to turn into a permanent mount. The Star is consumed during the conversion and cannot be recovered.
Step 1: Find the Star Handler
The Star Handler is located in the spawn area. Talk to them for information about Star Events and to purchase Stars from the shop. The Update #8 announcement identifies this vendor as Stellaris the Star Handler.
Step 2: Get a Mount Star
You have two confirmed ways to get a Star:
- Buy one from the Star Handler. Only five Stars per week can be purchased. Current bundles are 1 Star for 399 Robux, 3 Stars for 899 Robux, and 5 Stars for 1,399 Robux. The shop limit resets every Saturday.
- Receive one from a Star Event. Each in-game day has a rare chance for a Star Event. When it happens, eligible players in the server receive a free Star.
For a Star Event reward, you must have been in the server from the start of that in-game day. Server hopping does not work for Star Events.
Step 3: Apply the Star to a Pet
Select the pet you want to make mountable and use the Star on it. The game asks for confirmation before applying the Star.
A Star is consumed when used. The conversion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Choose carefully, especially if you have only one Star. A mounted pet can still be useful in your normal Pen setup, so you do not need to remove it from your active pets just because it is also a mount.
Step 4: Ride or Dismount Your Pet
After the Star has been applied, select the mounted pet and press Ride to mount it. Use Dismount to get off.
The image examples show a mounted Aetheron and an equipped Oni Tiger, demonstrating that mount status and Pen equipment can coexist. The game may change individual pet behavior or interface labels, so use the current in-game prompt if it differs.

You must be in the server from the start of that in-game day. Joining later or server hopping does not qualify for that event reward.
